I limited the head of
this wood doll serie on 90 pieces
It is already a very
complex process for such a small series.
First, Im designs a
model. This model is cast in bronze. The carving
machine scans the bronze model and creates the
respective parts from maple wood.
As the machine makes
these parts about a third smaller, the bronze
model is accordingly bigger.
Afterwards the very
important and time-consuming precision work
begins. The milling head of the machine does not
leave precise edges, so it takes a lot of carving
work, and sensitivity to create the final,
delicate forms.
The individuality of each
individual doll is completed by painting, co-ordinated
with the suitably particularly manufactured
clothes, and hand attached wig from Mohair
Each doll are signed an
numbered in the neck
